How To Be Productive Even When Working From Home - Blog Lorelei Web Design

Some are not as productive when they are working from home and do not see the motivation to work if they know that it is just in their home they need to work.

If this is the set up your employer wants to consider, you have no choice but to abide by it. Considering the many benefits this kind of set up can provide to employees, there is actually no reason why would you not be happy to know that you are going in that direction.

Just to help you in assuring productivity at all times, here are some of the tips you may want to consider:

  • Designate a time and place to work

You have to keep up with a schedule every day. You have to dedicate a time that you have to focus on working. You must not be disturbed any time when your time is set to work. Even if you are itching to play some online slots you must resist or even better self-exclude yourself, you have to turn that idea down and proceed with your work.

You also have to maintain a space in your home that will be used only when working. Do not use it to sleep or do other things. If this is the case, you will not have a hard time differentiating work from home.

If there is no space in your home you can turn it into your work station, you can at least get a table and chair that you will only use at work. Choose foldable ones, so you can fold them when work is up.

  • Remove anything destructive from your work space

Do not work in front of a television or make sure that your personal mobile phone is off or in silent mode when working. Do not let anything that is non work related disturbed you during working hours.

If possible, you can ask your family or friends not to call you during the time you have to work. Make sure that if it is time to work, your 100% attention is at work, nowhere else.

  • Always remember your career goals

When you are losing the motivation to work, remind yourself of your purpose of working and what you want to achieve. Inspire yourself to bring out the best in you. True, that work from home set up is challenging but with your focus and dedication, things are easier to manage.

  • Relax when necessary

If you feel burned out, or you feel very tired already, give yourself a quick break. Just like when you are in the office, you have to stand up from time to time, get coffee, smoke, or do anything that you know can help you distress even for a while.
