43 Free WordPress Themes that Look Totally Premium
WordPress was first released back in 2003, whole 7 years ago and after tremendous changes and tweaks, one may assume that all the WordPress themes has already been released by now… You are wrong. To my joy, I discover dozens of new wordpress themes every day and it even though I think I had seen it all by now, maybe you haven’t? If you are starting a new blog, you might get overwhelmed by the idea that in order to make a good competition in the design blog sphere — you need a premium wordpress theme (aka “paid”). While is is of course correct and many respected blogs do use a custom made, customly tweaked, customly customized wordpress theme — a lot of beginners and even more advanced users are happy with the FREE WordPress themes they simply adjusted for their needs.
If you need an inbuilt gallery, featured posts section, admin panel, magazine style for tutorials and easy ads management, these WordPress themes could be the right ones for you. My point is — you can make your blog layout look premium, without premium damage to your wallet.
And some more ancient, yet still gorgeous Free WordPress Themes:

Hi Loreli,
. Thanks!
I am having trouble with an old theme, Simplebet. The posts on the main page show correctly but when I click through to the individual post pages, all the photos are showing up twice. I can’t figure out why and hope that you can help

@Jon, you probably didn’t allow nested comments on your blog in the first place
In your admin panel, go to Settings >> Discussion >> and check the box near “Enable threaded (nested) comments __ levels deep”
Let me know if it helped please.

Sorry for the trouble. I went to the plug-in designer’s site and he mentioned that the featureme.php file needs to be in the plugins root, not in its own folder, as are other wp plugins. All is well, and thanks again for a beautiful design!

Dear Lorelei:
I left a comment but it’s disappeared. I’m having difficulty getting the “Featured Posts” feature to work on SilverStar.” The little box you mention appears, but it will not maintain the “check” when I update the post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Lorelei,
I just installed your beautiful “Silverstar” theme, downloaded and installed the FeatureMe plugin. The little box you referred to in your reply to Jon (2/3/2010) appears in the edit-post window, but when I check the box and update the post, it doesn’t remain checked and the post doesn’t make it to the “Featured Posts” slider. Any ideas for me.
Gratefully,

Great designs Lorelei!
I downloaded the SilverStar theme and activated it, but i notice the comment within comment feature is not present… what do i do to get it to work like it does in the demo?
2.3.2010
Jon, I forgot to mention you need to download the FeatureMe plugin to select posts for featured posts section.

Once you upload and install the plugin on your server, every post will have a small box (I think at the bottom) in the admin panel when you make or edit posts, — check the box to make the post appear in the featured slider.
This will do the trick with upper slider.

No, I mean there is no reply in each comment box. See how you commented within my comment box. How do I get the theme to do that? It’s missing.
